Hi, I'm Palipilino!

About Me
Thanks for stumbling onto my Neocities page!

Like so many here, I'm happy to have my own little corner of the internet.

I like talking about video games, hiking, birds, musical theatre, and lots of other stuff! You can use the bar above to pick a topic.

If you want to, you can read more about me here!

Pour yourself a cuppa tea and stay a while! :)

I'm here too!

My First Blog Post!
July 2026

Hello hello hello!! This is my first ever blog post!

I can't believe I'm even writing this at this point! Wow, how far I've come, eh? March 24th, 2025...I just finished Hypnospace Outlaw, I was looking around the web for retro-revival web pages and services, and I stumbled across Neocities! I made an account on a whim, but in truth, I never would have thought I'd get this far! But this is is, the final piece of the puzzle! Once this page is done, my website will officially be complete! Ready to go!! Fit for public consumption!!! Yippie!!!

This has been a very long process and motivation to work on it has ebbed and flowed. Recent events have made me decide to "lock in" as the kids say and look! I made this lovely place with my own two wings! I know it's not super high-tech or fashionable, but it's mine, and I'm so proud of it!

My Journey To Here
Until recently I was pretty active on a game logging site, and that's where I used to post my game reviews and stuff along with HowLongToBeat. I don't know what is was exactly that made me grow away from it, maybe it was more a confluence of a lot of different things. For one, the whole atmosphere of the community made me very sad. A lot of people would treat others very poorly, just for disliking a game they liked, or vice versa. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised, but the things people would say to others were just...inhuman. Like, this is all over games. I wanted to view it as like, this cozy lovely kingdom where a bunch of gaymers could gather and talk about what they liked. But more and more I noticed just...a lot of negativity. It made me really sad.

A lot of things about the community, from the group at large to certain people in specific, just started to make me feel sad, or angry, or bad about myself. Maybe I am just too delicate for hostile online spaces or something, I don't know. But it was taking a lot of my time and mental energy and it was rarely giving me any good feelings for the past few months of being there. I grew kinda disillusioned I guess. My website was about half finished at that point, but I thought maybe stepping away from this community I used to love would give me more time to focus on it. And I'm really happy with how much I've done now!

I'm sad about the way it had to happen, and maybe it was always the same and I was just a newbie looking at everything with bright-colored glasses when I first joined, but it was doing a number on me and I just felt I was wasting too much time worrying about it. Combine that with other personal events which I had going on or had happened recently and I just really think it was for the best that I moved on. Which I'm still sorta in the process of doing! But Neocities has been a great focus lens for me to work on while I do :3 (Eventually I'll clean up my sidebar, but for now, there's always gonna be at least one broken link on this page...haha...)

Spoon & Ratboys Concert
For a couple of reasons, I haven't been able to get up to much recently (and some of that is due to the amount of time I've dedicated to working on here!!), BUT I did manage to go to a concert the other day! Spoon were playing in Central Park, and Ratboys were opening for them, and it was all free! I've been a big Spoon fan for at least a decade now, so seeing them was always something I wanted to do, and Ratboys I only got into this year, but I've really been digging their most recent album! It was so cool I got to see both on the same day, and for free no less! You have to love New York...

It was a really awesome concert! I actually ended up grabbing an LP of the Ratboys album I'm a big fan of. You can listen to it below!

Albert's Birthday Tea Party!!
Okay so if you know me, you know I'm a big bird fan (check the profile pic...) and you KNOW my favorite bird is Albert, a Northern Cardinal that visits my feeder sometimes! Well, a month or so ago was his one year anniversary at visiting us! As a celebration for my fave bird, I threw a lovely tea party in his honor!

It was my first time preparing a full triple-tiered tray and everything, but I think it came out quite well! I also put together a sorta cake for him with blueberries (his favorite!) and seeds, but...I think it might have scared him a bit haha, he never went near it!

What a beautiful party!
The extremely frightening cake

You can also see my lovely Moon Rabbit tea set above, which we used for the first time! All in all it was a quite lovely time. And as an added bonus, check out this lovely oil painting of Albert! It's so realistic, it's like the same image side by side!!

Where I'll Go From Here
I don't know, I didn't think I'd get this far!

I think now that I have a solid template for everything, making new pages will be super easy! So I'll no longer fear having to code a whole different type of page, or change a bunch of colors or layouts...I can just use what I have to have fun and post my stuff from time to time! It feel so freeing to finally get to this point...I'm very excited to be pretty much finished with the work, and now I can just focus on my little life updates and bird posts and yadda yadda yadda!

If you managed to make it here to read this post, thanks so much! Hope to see you around here again sometime soon. :)
